Home of the Santa Clara Sparks!!
Santa Clara PAL is providing a fun and interactive clinic! Our girls will get to interact with current college softball players and go through level-appropriate stations in hitting, throwing, and fielding. This is a great opportunity for our youngest players to get exposure to what softball is and for our older players to advance their skills.
Per guidance from the State of California, the City and County of Santa Clara, and the Santa Clara Police Activities League, the Santa Clara Police Activities League Softball Board will be implementing the following safety plan for our 2020-2021 Pre-Season Clinics.
Registration
All participants will be required to pre-register for our clinics using our online, paperless format. This will ensure that we have a proper headcount in advance.
Pre-clinic Health Screening
All clinic participants (players, coaches and board members) will be required to complete an online COVID-19 Symptom check form within the 24 hours preceding the clinic start time. Link will be emailed to all registered participants the day before the clinic.
Arrival at Clinics
We will stagger groups of attendees into cohorts that will arrive in 30 minute windows to avoid all participants arriving at the same time.
Spectators
We ask that parents do not sit in the stands to watch the clinics. If the field is arranged to allow, staying in cars to observe is recommended.
Equipment
No shared equipment will be provided, outside of balls. Participants must provide their own gloves, bats, batting helmet, fielder’s mask (if desired), water bottle and face mask. Participants will be given distanced space along a fence to store their equipment and to take their water breaks.
Water
Participants should bring their own supply of water. Water fountains in the City of Santa Clara have been disabled.
Sanitation
Hand Sanitizer stations/bottles will be provided for each group/cohort of participants. Participants will be asked to frequently sanitize their hands between drills where a ball is shared and always before taking breaks for water.
Group/Cohort Size
We will break the clinic participants into smaller groups of no more than 12 participants. These groups will stay together during the entirety of the clinic. Each group will be physically separated from the other groups at all times.
Face Masks
Face masks will be required of all participants unless cleared by the PAL Softball Board.
Distancing
All drills will be designed to keep participants 6 feet away from each other as much as possible.
